Synoikismos

Synoikismos is an student group at PrepaTec Campus Querétaro founded by International Baccalaureate (IB) students.

The student group takes inspiration from the Greek concept of synoikismos, which refers to the union or unification of small communities to form a larger one. Taking into account that Ancient Greece was known for its great wisdom, the group adopted the concept to symbolize unity through knowledge and thus, develop a formative group that serves the community.

What is IB?

IB is a comprehensive, global academic diploma that develops students into critical thinkers and great decision-makers evaluating problems with an international lens. The program fosters social awareness, encourages creative pursuits, and encourages physical activity.

Why Synoikismos?

Synoikismos is a student group that seeks to support students facing challenging or confusing issues, primarily students in the International Program. The group seeks to help students develop skills that will allow them to achieve fundamental academic goals, so they can focus their attention on academic, athletic, artistic, student, community, or personal projects, thus making their time at PrepaTec more meaningful and enjoyable. Additionally, the student group offers students the opportunity to participate in extracurricular events that aim to expand their curriculum, but above all, to serve the community with their great talents.
